Random Pickers and Generators
Let chance make the call. Spin a wheel of your own entries, draw winners from a list of names one at a time, split a class or a group of players into random teams, flip a coin, or roll up to 10 dice from d4 to d100. For quick decisions there is a yes or no generator and a fortune teller ball, and for game nights there are truth or dare prompts and would you rather questions to keep things moving.
Every pick uses the cryptographic random number generator built into your browser (crypto.getRandomValues) rather than a simple formula, so each entry has the same chance and the spinning or flipping animation is only for show. The names and entries you type stay in the page and are not sent to us. Writers, teachers and designers can also pull random words by type, length and first letter, or random colors with HEX, RGB and HSL codes ready to copy, and anyone stuck in a rut can take on a random challenge for the day.

Frequently asked questions
Is an online random picker really random?
These pickers use crypto.getRandomValues, the cryptographic random number generator built into your browser, instead of the simpler Math.random. Every entry has the same chance on each spin, flip or draw, and the result is chosen when you click: the animation that follows does not change it.
How do I split a group into random teams?
Paste the names into the random team generator, one per line, and choose how many teams you need, from 2 to 10. The names are shuffled and then dealt out in turn, so with the balanced option on, team sizes never differ by more than one. Run it again for a fresh shuffle.
What do d4, d6, d20 and d100 mean?
The number after the d is how many sides the die has, so a d20 is a 20-sided die and a d100 gives a number from 1 to 100. Game notation such as 3d6 means roll three six-sided dice and add them up. The dice roller handles up to 10 dice at a time with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20 or 100 sides.
